Hearst Japan announced the appointment of Sachiko Tonooka as Editor-in-Chief of 25ans and Katsue Shibata as Editor-in-Chief of 25ans Wedding, effective March 1, 2026. In addition, the brand introduced One 25ans, a new integrated editorial structure bringing together print and digital teams to strengthen its multi-platform luxury media offering across magazine, digital, social, and events.
Founded in 1980, 25ans has long been a symbol of elegance, delivering premium content across fashion, beauty, jewelry, travel, and culture. Under the new structure, the brand will further expand its reach and engagement, evolving into a seamless luxury media platform aligned with the changing behaviors of its audience.
Tonooka brings extensive experience across ELLEgirl, ELLE Digital, and ELLE Japon, and most recently led 25ans Digital and 25ans Wedding Digital as Editor-in-Chief, driving significant audience growth. She will now lead the continued development of 25ans across all platforms.
For 45 years, 25ans has built deep reader trust through its enduring vision of “living with elegance,” a value that remains constant as the brand evolves across digital platforms. Reflecting on this next chapter, Sachiko Tonooka said:
“To be a media brand that enriches every moment of our readers’ lives with excitement and inspires a positive mindset each day. Guided by a “user-first” approach, our editors—equipped with a refined eye for elegance—will deliver content with agility across multiple platforms. Our ambition is to make every moment more elegant for women who aspire to the 25ans lifestyle. We look forward to continuing to evolve 25ans into a seamless luxury media brand.”
25ans Wedding also enters a new phase with the appointment of Katsue Shibata as Editor-in-Chief. With extensive editorial experience across ELLE Japon and ELLE DECOR, and most recently serving as Acting Editor-in-Chief, Shibata will continue to strengthen the brand’s position as a leading authority in luxury bridal. Speaking on her new role and the future of 25ans Wedding, Katsue Shibata said:
“A destination for brides who value the true essence of weddings and are committed to authenticity—this is the unique strength of our brand. In an ever-evolving landscape, we will continue to uphold these values while delivering the most refined and up-to-date wedding content in Japan across print, digital, and social platforms.”
