After a hiatus of four years, the iconic magazine brand Cosmopolitan is returning to Turkey, in partnership with Ali Tufan Koç and Dilek Oransal’s publishing house The Voice Media Company, and Hearst Magazines International.
Under a multiyear, multi-platform licensing agreement with The Voice Media Company, Cosmopolitan Turkey will be relaunched in September as a multi-platform brand, serving young women with inspiring entertainment, style, career, and wellness features.
“We are honored by the opportunity to bring the ‘fun and fearless’ Cosmo back to Turkey with community-first, service-oriented storytelling and high-quality journalism. Advocating for young female audiences and other underrepresented groups, sharing their experiences and perspectives, and highlighting voices that speak directly to them, we are committed to ensuring that Cosmopolitan will be a true representation of the diversity of young women throughout Turkey,” the co-publisher and the co-president of Cosmopolitan Turkey, Koç said.
In its first year, Cosmopolitan Turkey will release ten print issues, bi-monthly digital covers, audience-first social channels, and a membership club model. Veteran journalist, a former editor-in-chief of Turkey’s most circulated weekend supplement newspaper, Işıl Cinmen has been named the editor-in-chief and will lead the development of the brand across the platforms. Yasmin Güleç, founder of the “twentysomething” newsletter, will oversee the digital content strategy, membership models, and community design. Said the freshly minted editorial leaders, “We look forward to offering young women in Turkey a seamless blend of fashion, beauty, sex, wellness, pop culture, career and financial topics that will enhance their daily lives and inspire them on their own personal journeys.”
“We are thrilled to be reintroducing the iconic Cosmopolitan brand in Turkey and excited by the leadership team’s bold and dynamic plans to connect with and inspire Millennial and Gen Z women across the country,” said Kim St. Clair Bodden, senior vice president of editorial and brand director of Hearst Magazines International.
The relaunch issue will feature Cosmopolitan Turkey’s first-ever “COSMO100” list, a celebration of the most influential, “fun and fearless” women in Turkey that reshaped the culture between 2020 and 2024, during the four year-hiatus of the brand. With multiple cover stars, an inaugural gala ball, and limited podcast series, “COSMO100” aims to bring joy, fun, and inspiring moments. From “Let’s Talk About It” summit series to “Cosmo Sleepovers,” digital television and radio, community gatherings and prom nights, the new Cosmopolitan Turkey will launch many engaging new experiences and projects in the following seasons.
