Delish Philippines announced today that the brand will debut its maiden print issue on July 15 and on delish.ph. As Filipino cuisine continues to gain recognition around the world, the Philippine edition of the globally recognized Hearst Magazines food brand places regional cuisines and culinary storytelling at the heart of its editorial vision, celebrating the people, places, traditions and histories behind every dish.

Leading the inaugural issue is Binungor, a traditional Cordilleran snail dish featured on the cover. Chosen for its reflection of the resourcefulness, indigenous knowledge, communal traditions and rich regional diversity that define Filipino cuisine, the dish embodies the publication’s commitment to championing stories that are deeply rooted in culture and heritage.

Stories That Go Beyond the Plate

The maiden issue takes readers on a journey across the Philippines, beginning in the Cordilleras, where indigenous ingredients, time-honored cooking methods and the communities preserving these traditions take center stage. Through nine home-cooked dishes shared by three culinary champions, namely Jocelyn Kapuno, Pil-od Acop Ano and Chavi Romawac, the feature offers an intimate look at a cuisine shaped by generations of knowledge, resilience, and a profound connection to the land.

The brand also travels to Bulacan and Iloilo, exploring the provinces’ iconic dishes and the stories that have sustained them through generations. By tracing the origins of beloved local specialties, the features reveal how food remains inseparable from history, identity and community.

Adding another perspective is a feature that revisits Philippine history through the favorite dishes of some of the nation’s most beloved heroes. Moving beyond their public achievements, the story offers a more personal glimpse into the lives of the individuals who helped shape the country, demonstrating how food can illuminate history in unexpected ways.

Complementing these regional and historical narratives are profiles of chefs, culinary experts, artisans and food-adjacent personalities whose work continues to elevate Filipino cuisine both locally and internationally. Together, their stories reflect a food culture that honors its roots while embracing innovation and new ideas.

A New Chapter in Filipino Food Media

Under the leadership of Chief of Editorial Content Angelo Comsti, Delish Philippines positions food as a lens through which their audience can better understand Filipino culture, heritage, craftsmanship and identity.

Whether documenting regional cuisines, preserving heirloom recipes, exploring food traditions, or spotlighting the people shaping the country’s culinary landscape, the brand presents Filipino food as both a cultural archive and a living, evolving story.

“One of the best things I love about food is that it has this incredible ability to connect people who might otherwise have nothing in common. And that’s exactly what we hope Delish Philippines becomes,” shares Comsti in the issue. “A place where curiosity is always welcome. A place where tradition and innovation can sit at the same table. A place where differences are not forgotten, but understood and celebrated. A place where every issue leaves you not just hungry for the next meal, but eager to learn the story behind it.”

As the first issue of what aims to become the country’s definitive food brand, Delish Philippines invites readers to discover not only what Filipinos eat, but why those dishes continue to shape the nation’s identity—one story, one community and one meal at a time.
