
On Sunday, October 19, ELLE Spain hosted a new edition of ELLE x Hope, its annual philanthropic gala in support of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) at the historic Palacio de Santoña in Madrid’s Barrio de las Letras. Supported by partners including Estée Lauder, CaixaBank, Solán de Cabras, KIA, Scalpers, and Ausonia, the event marked World Breast Cancer Day, and brought together leading figures from fashion, entertainment, and culture to raise awareness and support ongoing cancer research.
Hosted by Eva González, the evening recognized the recipients of the ELLE Hope Award, represented by Demo’s pink teddy bear, honoring individuals for their outstanding commitment in the fight against cancer.
- Dr. Marisol Soengas, from the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), received the Research Award for her work on skin cancer.
- Singer Encarna Salazar of Azúcar Moreno received the Overcoming Award for her personal victory over breast cancer.
- Filmmaker Mabel Lozano received the Awareness Award for her short film on cancer, created in collaboration with Ausonia,
- Actor Sergio Peris-Mencheta was honored with the Courage Award for his personal battle against leukemia.
In her address, Benedetta Poletti, Director of ELLE and Editorial Director of Hearst Spain, reaffirmed the brand’s ongoing commitment to awareness and solidarity:
To honor those who believe nothing is impossible, who transform adversity into strength, and who, through their example, inspire and teach us every day to keep fighting.
With performances by Mai Meneses and Dora Postigo, and attendance from notable guests including Lady Kitty Spencer, the evening reaffirmed ELLE’s commitment to supporting research, awareness, and collective action in the fight against cancer.
