Esquire UK unveils its first ‘Better Men’ issue, marking an exciting new era under Editor-in-Chief Teo van den Broeke. On sale from 13 November, the Winter edition — the first one fully edited by van dan Broeke — introduces a reimagined editorial identity with new sections focused on style, life, and culture; a refined visual design with elevated photography and premium paper stock; and an expanded commitment to print, with the magazine increasing to bi-monthly frequency from 2026.
Themed around ‘Better Men‘, the issue celebrates integrity, creativity, and empathy, offering a modern blueprint for what positive masculinity means in 2025. Fronting the cover are three special stars — Jonathan Bailey, Colman Domingo, and Alexander Skarsgård — each each exemplifying the magazine’s vision of contemporary masculinity.
Central to the edition is the Better Men List, a curated index of 101 individuals from across culture, politics, art, and sport who are leaders in thought, style and creativity and embody Esquire’s ethos of purpose and progress. Selected by the Esquire editorial team and a panel of judges, the honorees are featured in an extended dedicated section of the launch issue. To mark the moment, some of them have written letters to their younger selves, reflecting on the lessons, challenges and growth that have shaped who they are today. The letter series will also be available as a new collection of short films premiering soon on Esquire.co.uk.
As part of the brand’s wider evolution, Esquire UK also welcomes a new cohort of contributors, including Nick Foulkes (Watches & Jewellery), Gianluca Longo, Ben Cobb, and Caroline Issa (Style), Charlene Prempeh (Design), Jackson Boxer (Food), and Charlie Casely Hayford (Tailoring), alongside contributing editors Lou Stoppard, Alex Bilmes, Liam Freeman, Philippa Snow, Robert Rabensteiner, Julian Ganio, Felicity Kay, Ben Schofield, and Rose Forde.
To celebrate the milestone, Esquire UK hosted the inaugural Esquire Better Men event at Claridge’s in London on 12 November, in partnership with BOSS. The evening brought together contributors, cover stars, and friends of the brand — including Andrew Scott, Ashley Walters, Naomi Campbell, Kit Butler, Aaron Pierre, and Daryl McCormack — for a celebration of positive masculinity, and the men who embody Esquire’s core values of intelligence, service and style.
Teo van den Broeke, Editor-in-Chief of Esquire UK, said: “British Esquire has always been a beacon of intelligence, style, and service. I started reading Esquire as a teenager, and I am now honoured to evolve its extraordinary legacy with the inaugural Better Men issue. In the issue, we celebrate good men doing great things. Men who are engaged with the world, with purpose and good taste as guiding principles for better living.”
James Foster, SVP Global Marketing at HUGO BOSS, added: “We are proud to partner with Esquire UK Better Men on this landmark first issue under Teo van den Broeke’s inspiring leadership. At BOSS, we champion individuality and progression — values that align seamlessly with Esquire’s mission to redefine modern masculinity with integrity, elegance, and distinction. Together, we’re empowering men to explore what it truly means to Be Your Own BOSS.”
