The 76th edition of the Fotogramas de Plata — one of Spain’s most established and culturally significant awards — took place on March 23 in Madrid, celebrating excellence across film, television and theatre.
Organised by Fotogramas, the iconic Hearst title and leading voice in Spanish cinema for over 75 years, the annual awards continue to spotlight both audience favorites and critically acclaimed productions, reinforcing their unique positioning at the intersection of editorial authority and popular engagement.
This year’s ceremony, hosted by Silvia Abril at Espacio V64, brought together leading talent from across the industry for a night that reflected the strength and diversity of Spanish storytelling.
At the top of the awards, ‘La cena’, directed by Manuel Gómez Pereira, was named Best Film (Readers), while Netflix miniseries ‘Superestar’ secured Best Series (Readers), confirming both titles as standout cultural moments of the year.
In acting categories, Patricia López Arnaiz (Los domingos) and José Ramón Soroiz (Maspalomas) were recognised as Best Movie Actress and Best Movie Actor, respectively, underscoring the depth of performance across Spanish cinema.
Television honours went to Álvaro Morte for Anatomía de un instante (Best TV Actor), alongside recognition for the ensemble cast of ‘Furia / Estado de furia’ in the Best TV Actress category.
In theatre, Toni Acosta (Una madre de película) and Oriol Pla (Gula) were awarded Best Theatre Actress and Best Theatre Actor, respectively, highlighting the continued vitality of Spain’s stage sector.
The critics’ awards recognised ‘Los domingos’, directed by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, as Best Spanish Film, while ‘Una batalla tras otra’, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, was named Best Foreign Film, reinforcing the awards’ dual perspective across audience and critical acclaim.
