Good Housekeeping UK Launches GH Kitchen App

The new free GH Kitchen app makes it easy to swipe, search and save thousands of triple-tested recipes for faster, smarter meal planning

PUBLISHED: Nov 7, 2025

Good Housekeeping UK has unveiled the GH Kitchen app, a new, free-to-use recipe platform designed to streamline how home cooks discover, save and prepare meals. The launch brings together thousands of triple-tested recipes inside a swipe-based interface inspired by popular dating apps, simplifying everyday meal planning and reducing midweek decision fatigue.

Powered by Pugpig — the platform behind leading media apps such as Women’s Health UK and Runner’s World UK — and developed in close partnership with product agency Fueled, the GH Kitchen app represents a next-generation cooking companion built around speed, personalization and intuitive user experience.

Good Housekeeping Kitchen app users start their journey in an ‘Inspire me’ section, where they can swipe through a collection of GH favorites, swiping right on any recipe that takes their fancy and left for any that don’t at that particular point. Swiped recipes instantly appear in a favorites folder, and the user can create custom collections for everything from weeknight staples and vegetarian favorites, to brunch ideas and a lot more. Beyond discovery, the app’s ‘Search‘ function opens access to the full Good Housekeeping recipe archive, including new test-kitchen releases, curated seasonal edits and guest collections from renowned chefs, like Jamie Oliver and Mary Berry.

Additionally, Smart filters allow home cooks to tailor results by ingredient, cuisine, occasion or dietary preference, helping them find exactly what they need, when they need it. For hands-on cooking, a Start Cooking mode offers step-by-step guidance in a clean, ready-to-use layout optimized for the kitchen — supporting everything from ingredient prep to final plating.

The launch underscores Good Housekeeping’s commitment to utility-led content experiences, giving audiences a modern, frictionless tool that elevates confidence and creativity in the kitchen. Regular content updates ensure the app remains fresh, dynamic and habit-forming throughout the year.

Liz Settle, MD of Good Housekeeping / Good Housekeeping Institute, said: Recipes have long been one of the first ways that people discover Good Housekeeping, so we’re thrilled to launch this new, free app and share our iconic triple-tested recipes with a new generation of home cooks.”

Jean Kemp, Customer Director at Pugpigsaid: “Good Housekeeping Kitchen shows how a recipe app can move past just content and deliver genuine value, exactly the kind of user experience Hearst is leaning into. It’s been a fantastic collaboration with Good Housekeeping and Fueled, and we’re excited to support the next phase as the app builds habits, personalisation and optional paid value.”
