Harper’s BAZAAR Interiors arrives on newsstands in Brazil this June, reaffirming Carta Editorial’s commitment to editorial excellence and the continued expansion of its portfolio.
For the past 14 years, Carta Editorial has been at the helm of Harper’s BAZAAR in Brazil, building a prestigious and influential presence within the fashion and luxury publishing landscape. With the launch of BAZAAR Interiors, the group expands its editorial vision into a dynamic and increasingly relevant territory — the art of living well and the celebration of the spaces we call home.
“We believe contemporary living goes beyond aesthetics — it speaks to identity, purpose, and sensitivity. BAZAAR Interiors was created to reflect this spirit, with a curatorial lens deeply connected to the cultural and creative movements of Brazil and the world,” says Patricia Carta, Publisher at Carta Editorial.
Reinforcing Harper’s BAZAAR’s long-standing DNA of promoting art and culture, the launch of this new title is accompanied by the arrival of Beta Germano — a highly respected art critic — as Editor-in-Chief of the new publication.
“Our goal is to showcase and discuss diverse worldviews and ways of living — imagining future possibilities where innovation and sustainable thinking go hand in hand,” says Beta Germano. She emphasizes that as Harper’s BAZAAR is known as the world’s first fashion magazine, this pioneering DNA will remain present. While open to a range of styles, the publication will focus especially on contemporary, modernist, and brutalist homes.
The magazine will feature two special issues annually, in addition to a yearbook. Harper’s BAZAAR Interiors will serve as a premium platform for an audience passionate about art, architecture, and design — combining the best of Brazilian creativity with global trends. The print edition will be accompanied by digital and in-person activations, including talks with industry icons, exclusive podcasts, and immersive experiences that connect creators, brands, and the public.
According to Carol Kanj, Business Director at Carta Editorial, the project includes curated content, immersive experiences, customized campaigns, events, digital activations, and a printed magazine. “The Brazilian market has warmly welcomed the news and is celebrating the launch of this new Carta Editorial title, dedicated to the luxury home and lifestyle segment.”
For Hearst Magazines International, the new title presents a unique opportunity to showcase diverse and inspiring ways of life.
“The launch of Harper’s BAZAAR Interiors allows us to build on the tremendous momentum of BAZAAR in Brazil,” says Kim St. Clair Bodden, Senior Vice President of Editorial & Brand Director at Hearst Magazines International. “Patricia Carta and Beta Germano are exceptionally qualified to introduce this high-end brand extension and cater to a growing audience of design and architecture enthusiasts.”
A multicultural editorial approach
The first issue of Harper’s BAZAAR Interiors Brazil is born with a unique identity: tropical, plural, and deeply rooted in traditional knowledge and the creative power of Latin America, offering a reflective look at the future of architecture, urbanism, design, and art.
This debut edition explores repurposed materials, journeys to the Amazon to reveal creative processes, highlights the use of biomaterials, and reinterprets environmental disasters, among other themes. The creative direction of the publication is led by Estúdio KM, under the direction of Kleber Matheus.
Launch events to celebrate new ways of living
The launch of Harper’s BAZAAR Interiors will be celebrated in two moments this June. On June 3, “Possible Futures” hosted a thought-provoking event at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo, featuring three panels with notable guests such as Humberto Campana, Guto Requena, Thiago Cesar, Mestre Rosa and Guá Arquitetura, Bárbara Tupinikim, and Marcelo Rosenbaum.
On June 26, the new MASP building on Avenida Paulista in São Paulo will host a major celebration bringing together leading professionals from architecture, design, decoration, art, galleries, and digital influence.
