Harper’s BAZAAR UK has unveiled the 2025 edition of its annual BAZAAR Art magazine, produced in partnership with Jaguar. The standalone issue coincides with Frieze London, and honors the creative women shaping the contemporary art world.
The special edition features four exclusive covers by renowned artists Joy Gregory, Sarah Lucas, Maggi Hambling, and Ghislaine Leung — a quartet of female trailblazers whose work continues to redefine artistic expression. Within its pages, readers will find an intimate road trip between Maggi Hambling and Sarah Lucas, a personal reflection by Esther Freud on Jean Rhys’ influence on modern art, and an insightful interview with Joy Gregory ahead of her major retrospective at the Whitechapel Gallery.
The issue also showcases a striking portfolio of photographs with cultural figures including designers (Alexander McQueen’s Creative Director Seán McGirr), artists (Linder Sterling and Eva Rothschild), and the actress Gwendoline Christie, each revealing the artists who inspire them. Further features celebrate pioneering female collectors, curators, and change makers driving the evolution of contemporary creativity.
Lydia Slater, Editor-in-Chief of Harper’s BAZAAR UK, commented:
Harper’s BAZAAR is thrilled to partner with Jaguar for our bespoke BAZAAR Art magazine, which pays homage to the modern-day female artists breaking boundaries. Frieze London provides the perfect backdrop to continue having important cultural conversations.
To mark the launch, Harper’s BAZAAR UK hosted an exclusive BAZAAR Art celebration at Mark’s Club in Mayfair, held on the eve of Frieze London. The evening brought together leading figures from the worlds of art, fashion, and film — including Maria Balshaw, Michaela Yearwood-Dan, Christina Kimeze, Rosh Mahtani, Deborah Levy, and Elizabeth Day — who joined in conversation and celebration. The event was presented in partnership with Jaguar, and supported by Ruinart, Belvedere Vodka, Volcán De Mi Tierra, and Glenmorangie.
