Hearst Spain has announced the appointment of Jesús Cano as the new Editorial Director of its Decoration Unit, overseeing ELLE Decoration and Nuevo Estilo Collection. He succeeds Marta Riopérez, who will transition into the role of Senior Advisor for the Decoration division.
This leadership change marks a strategic step in strengthening Hearst Spain’s home and design portfolio. Cano will spearhead editorial strategy, brand growth, 360º project development, and the expansion of partnerships and formats to accelerate business performance.
With nearly three decades of experience in communication, design, and creative direction, Cano has led major projects for brands such as Loewe, Cassina, Vitra, and Omega. He is founder and creative director of Cano Estudio and has collaborated with leading publications including MujerHoy, XL Semanal, El Mundo, AD, and has been a monthly columnist for ELLE Decoration since 2016.
Riopérez, a benchmark in the Spanish decoration sector, will continue to contribute her expertise by advising on strategic partnerships, supporting business development, and representing the brands at key industry events. Over her tenure, she has driven innovation and growth, leading initiatives such as DecorAcción and the ELLE Decoration Design Awards.
This transition underscores Hearst Spain’s commitment to innovation, creativity, and growth in the decoration sector.
